Comment:
losing against the worst bs-player of this basho yesterday
hurt...
ouchiyama will be last in technique prize standing overall and
was last in mcp standing, but i lost to him :-(((((
today i am matched up against the new worst player in mcp and
last but one in technique prize.

i'm really down on my luck.
why is the fate so bad to me that i strike such a bad patch??

is that a sign from the bs gods who want me to retire?
or a sign from the torikumi maker who seems not to like me as he
pairs me against worse players on their good days?

anyway, today i can't find more than 2 winners in my team and
don't know who to place in the points.
wakanosato has been in the points everyday i think and deserves
the top spot today again

Finally, it's over. Still trying to save face with only two
winning rikishi. Need to practise picking a line-up. Will
study all the divisional winners and come back strong in March.

Thanx to all who run the game, and good luck to all the players,
may you not fall as far down the banzuke as I.

That's really hard.... all chances to win the Yusho already on
day 14 and this §$%§&? Torikumi-maker changes bouts on short
notice... So I need this Shiroboshi. But today's selection is
somehow a lottery... I really need very much luck to beat
Kaihomi who has performed very well in this basho...

Sunday!". Apologies to my fellow frosties for stinking up the
basho big time. I will come back stronger, grander and
gruesomer.

would never trust that much (yes, I am mad) and just hope that
my opponent has an even worst day.

KK!

Today I'm just to giddy to think. I'd like to get a win and
have 10 wins but that's unlikely with the lineup I have. So
I've decided to go with an off-the-wall lineup. It's sink or
swim but I'm KK'd so it doesn't really matter.

I get one day of celebration then it's back to work! I need to
do MUCH better picking my team in Haru.

the same ichimon but also leading in the yusho race...(leading
with little me, i have to admit) ... back to this gyoji...he
better looks out when he arrives at the next annual meeting of
ther german sumo forum...last year he only got the medal of the

Comment:
I'm glad I don't need this win to acheive kk! Does everyone get
stuck with difficult bouts towards the end of the tournament or
is it just the mix of rikishi I pick?
I envision most 7-7 rikishi pushing extra hard for kk or perhaps
even being given a break by their aite (though I hate to believe
it). Wakanosato is too good to not beat Kakizoe though and he
must want to show a strong win total from so far down the
banzuke.
I picture Hakuho doing his best to make an interesting finish
and Kotooshu is doing what new ozeki usually do which is not
compete for a yusho.
If Hakuho wins, it is hard to imagine the Yokozuna NOT beating
Tochiazuma to give the fans the excitement of an extra bout.
Also the Yokozuna may be a bit sore but I think he has too much
pride to succumb to Tochiazuma in such an important match.
I can't see how the horribly injured Tamanoshima can withstand a
match against heavy Iwakiyama but his fighting spirit has been
incredible all tournament so I won't bet against him. Iwaki-zeki
leads my bench.
Good luck to my opponent (sorry I haven't checked to see who you
are but surely you are a fierce competitor).

In a parallel universe I never changed my team shortly before
the basho. With Hakuho, Tamanoshima, Takamisakari, Kotoshogiku
and Futeno I would have met the same opponents on the same days,
and I would have used exactly the same strategy as I did in this
universe. In that parallel universe I would already have the
Juryo yusho and lead 13-1.
In this stinking universe I turned a 6-3 into a 6-8. Tomorrow I
have a 4-pointer who faces a 7-7 rikishi. Any more questions?
At least in this universe Predictometer has received the
kachi-koshi in prediction performance (8-6). So in all
likelihood it will be 9-6 for the nifty toy and 6-9 for me.
I'll try to overcome my Hit-the-wallitis in March.

Konnichiwa Frinkanohana-san.
I have already lost the vigor at the time of the beginning.
However, I can greatly still be enjoying my first sekitori
basho.
I consider to regret that time sufficient for my comment was not
securable.
Probably, in the next basho, I am more talkative.
I want to value match itself more than victory or defeat.
I imagine masochistically that I sink by your strong arm like SG
the other day.

Since I was silent in this basho, I am sorry to have not been
unable to do duty as a BS-sekitori.
I am thankful to gyoji-san and a sponsor.
Next, let's meet you in Osaka.

While the senshuraku festivities are being prepared, Sumo Man
finds Unagiyutaka in the sauna.

Sumo Man: What happened to you yesterday? You looked haggard and
forlorn. You got your butt kicked.

Unagiyutaka: Yubiquitoyama just had a better grasp of the
situation than I did.

SM: That's not what Wakanojimmy told me. He said you were seen
going into the Barking Oyster Bar before your match.

U: Sssssshhhhhhh! Keep it down. Someone will hear you. Besides,
my head still hurts.

SM: Oh, your head will be the least of your worries if you can't
get it together tonight against Itachiyama. He's beaten you both
times you've met and he wants his 10th win.

U: OK, OK. Go tell Okamisan that YOU need her special hangover
cure. She'll lecture you about drinking during hon-basho and
then she'll have it made in about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, I'm
going to the hot tub to relax some tired muscles. This Makuuchi
division is brutal.

SM: OK. But, then we train for win #9.

U: You got it, shisho.

The writer slowly turned and saw himself in the mirror. It was
getting late and the guests were arriving, though they were
never invited. His discarded fingernails lay abandoned like
yesterday's guess. Tomorrow may bring another sunrise, but the
upper echelons do not see these things lightly and are
contemplating their next step, which may or may not involve

wow, i crashed hard this basho. was 5-3 last sunday, but have
since lost out, and this line up looks terrible no matter how i
put it in. so i have settled on this bizarro/chicken out lineup
(note my two pointers are facing each other, and i haven't had
opponents both in the points in probably three years. but that's
what a 6 match losing streak does to the mind.) anyway, it
would all be just a little bit better, if perhaps my honorable
opponent Takatamale would decide that he wants to be part of an
ichimon, and that the ichimon he wants to be a part of is
Sakura. :) Go Sakura!!!!

Day 15 is always difficult to pick, and especially when you are
going for a yusho! I think I could argue a case for all my
rikishi being in any spot from 1-10! How much do you trust the
crystal ball?

Bout 1: Futeno should beat Yoshikaze, but Yoshikaze has a lot
more to play for...

Bout 2: as above, a fit Wakanosato should beat Kakizoe, but
Kakizoe is 7-7...

Bout 3: Roho has a 4-2 lead over Hokutoriki, but Hokutoriki's
great form this basho evens this one up too...

Bout 4: A 7-7 Miyabiyama should beat Ama, but Ama has just come
off wins against Asashoryu and Kotomitsuki

Bout 5: Tamanoshima has a 7-2 lead over Iwakiyama, but does
Tamanoshima's injury need to be factored in?

Bout 6: Another even bout, but Kyokutenho should have the edge.

Bout 7: Hakuho has more to play for, but Kotooshu is regarded as
a slightly stronger rikishi

Bout 8: Normally Asashoryu would be favourite here, but their
form this basho indicates Tochiazuma should win

Taking all this into account, I have come up with the above
selections. I don't get to see the basho here in Australia, so I
just have to rely on the results and other information from the
internet to make my decisions.

Part of me thnks Kotooshu will be happy with 10 wins and have
less drive for a win than Hakuho. It also fits the drama much
more if Hakuho wins...then T'Azuma has to win to get the yusho
rather than back-into it as it were. So Hakuho for 4 points.

I also think Asahoryu wants those +3 points for beating the
Bench Yusho winner in the Outstanding Performance Prize...and
will beat T'Azuma. (Yes, 7 points riding on high drama on the
dohyo.)

My indecision is Wakanosato against 7-7 Kakizoe....
